After The Rain

The heavens did open up and drenched me alright.

The dirt n grime washed away, and I do feel light.

My soul sang a song and did a little dance,

I straightened my shoulders and took a stance.

As I looked at the clouds above, eye into eye,

I think I heard the heavens whisper a happy sigh.

They’d done their work of rejuvenating me anew,

She’s strong she’ll shine, it’s as if they knew.

Just a little bit of push is all that they gave me,

The rains had actually been sent down to save me.

To remind me of the most important law of survival,

The old goes away, making room for your revival.

I now look at the brightness all around me,

The rains have done their job, and clearly now I see.

The grass somehow seems greener on my side this time,

I smile as I take it all in, my thoughts now count for more than a dime!
