The Love That I Lost

I don’t hear your love anymore.
Gone are the whispers that kept me awake before.
Replaced by this deafening silence around me.
Through this jet black mist and haze, you, I cannot see.
What was once my anchor through the sands of time,
Now seems to be just an act, a pantomime.

Mask in place, I face the world.
But come the night, it’s only me and my woes untold.
It’s you that I want and your presence that I miss.
My desperation you never did see,
as you left me alone with a single goodbye kiss.
